"O'zapft is" is the motto every year at the beginning of the Munich Oktoberfest, which is known to be the largest and most atmospheric folk festival in the world. In keeping with the traditional party zone - as the "most popular Oktoberfest band in the world" and "Wiesn ambassador" - the musicians of the Münchner Zwietracht have now been moving from Munich for more than two decades to carry well-done music and the unique atmosphere of the Oktoberfest all over the world year after year.

Wolfgang Köbele on bass, trumpeter Heinz Fuhrmann, Andi Häckel on keyboard and accordion, guitarist Danny Klupp, Pete Lautenschlager on drums and Chris Furtner, responsible for vocals, guitar and trumpet, stand for power, party, entertainment and a lot of good humour like no other band. Tours through the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Korea and requests from all over the world underline their unique status as Wiesn-Band No.1. Just recently the band made it to Las Vegas for the Celebration Night of the biggest computer congress in the world, where last year no less than Paul McCartney performed. And so the Münchner Zwietracht played in summer 2014 in front of 6000 invited guests at the famous The Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas.

The history of Münchner Zwietracht is rich in such beautiful moments and successes. The band was founded in 1991. Already after one year they went on tour with established stars of the folk music scene and accompanied among others Karl Moik, Maria Hellwig or Patrick Lindner. In 1995 their story began as a legendary Wiesn band in the Hippodrom marquee. There the band became the epitome of the Oktoberfest bands and every evening the mood was boiling to the boiling point. In addition to international top hits, the Oktoberfestband No. 1 also features lots of their own hit songs. No matter if "Juche auf der hohen Alm", "Viva Bavaria" or the somewhat lyrically revised title "Butterfly", which the musicians have simply rewritten into "Scheißegal". All titles are guarantors for collective singing, celebrating and clapping along.

The group quickly became a household name beyond Munich's borders. Numerous CD releases, television and radio broadcasts as well as a multi-page reportage in Stern contributed to making the Oktoberfest band Münchner Zwietracht known throughout Germany as a Bavarian cult band. In the year 2000, the band collaborated with the late Munich fashionable tsar Rudolph Moshammer and produced the title "Mooshamma". The single was in the TOP 100 of the single charts. In the following year, Münchner Zwietracht even took part in the German preliminary decision for the "Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson" with the title "Teilt Freud und Leid". This appearance, as well as two preceding appearances with the Grand Prix of the people music and Grand Prix of the good mood brought the volume an entry into the Guinness book of the records with sensational three Grand Prix appearances in nine months.

In 2007, the Oktoberfestband celebrated its 15th anniversary and combined this - not without reason - with the 150th anniversary of Weißwurst. The Zwietracht published the single "Weißwurst ich liebe Dich" without further ado. In 2008, on the occasion of the 850th anniversary of the city of Munich, the group was asked to sing a hymn of praise to their hometown.

This resulted in a cooperation with the well-known composer Ralph Siegel. The song "I like Munich" is the simple but very honest commitment of the Bavarian musicians to their beloved hometown.

Also the year 2014 has it for the band - beside the already mentioned unique appearance in Vegas - again in itself! After the end of the hippodrome, the Marstall tent now inherits this legendary Wiesn institution. The completely redesigned and newly erected Wiesn tent is now set to continue the successful tradition of the Hippodrome with a stylish ambience, warm service and Bavarian hospitality. And so it came almost inevitably and proves impressively the reputation of this band that the new Wiesn innkeeper Siegfried Able and his wife Sabine immediately grabbed the Münchner Zwietracht.
The Munich cult band will play in the new Marstall tent with immediate effect. It couldn't have been better for both sides! So the next Oktoberfest can come, where the motto will be: "Ozapft is" again with a hearty and charged beer tent atmosphere!
